The Story of Pretty Festive
I first started thinking about Pretty Festive back in 2014 with a view to starting a business focussed on joy, and marking occasions. At the time I had a little shop of Etsy selling art prints, small stationery items and notions which I closed in 2015 while pregnant with my third baby.
In my spare time, around naps and childcare, I continued to develop my art practice, my graphic design skills and my emerging passion as a surface pattern designer while Pretty Festive percolated in the back of my mind.
Fast forward 5 years....
In 2019 after a handful of years freelancing as a graphic and website designer, I decided to turn my attentions more fully to surface pattern design which soon turned into a passion for not only patterns, but also ornamented design. I grew as an artist.
The came 2020 and life and the world changed!
My children were all in school and at the end of 2021 Pretty Festive began to feel more and more like a calling. I opened a new Etsy shop in early 2022 selling my art where it was purchased by businesses and used on products. Lots of products! Pretty Festive had been born!
